2001 Acura 1.7EL DRL Relay

This 2001 Acura 1.7 EL came to our shop. The problem was no left front high beam, and no Driving light. He went to other garage to have it fix, they replace head light bulb but still the same problem. He heard us from his fiance. We diagnosed and concluded it must be DRL ( Daylight driving light)relay. We removed it and inspected inside of the relay. As you see in picture below, we found 5 spots of soldering problem. It is called “Cold Solder”. At manufacturer stage, these spots were not solder properly or not designed well to out-stand the electrical demand. We can not fix the design but we can fix cold solder. We heated these spots with soldering iron, heated up properly then added a small amount of solder. After this we installed back in to the vehicle, all are well working now. It is a cheaper way of fixing, good for environment, and also good for the customer's pocket.
